John Keats & Piazza Spagna

This view of Rome's Piazza de Spagna was shot from none other than second-generation Romantic Poet John Keat's bedroom from his tragically short stay in Rome. Ordered to Rome by his docotor for health reasons, Keats died in his Rome apartment at age 25. The apartment is now a beautiful museum with floor to ceiling bookshelves bursting with books and Keatsian artifacts. The museum was a good break from all the renaissance art and as an enthusiast of English literature, it was awesome getting to see some of my favorite writers' (there was also some Byron and Shelley on display) manuscripts. Also- there is no better place on earth to enjoy romantic poetry than Rome in springtime.
